ELKINS, W.Va. — The Davis & Elkins College volleyball team opened its home schedule on a new court inside the McDonnell Center Monday night, falling to Salem, 3-1, in its first home match of the 2026 season.

The Senators took the opening set, 25-22, before Salem responded by taking the next three sets, 25-11, 25-20 and 25-22.

Davis & Elkins finished with 43 kills compared to 40 for Salem and held a 7-7 advantage in blocks. The Senators also recorded 37 assists and 64 digs in the match.

Madison McGarry led the Senators with 14 kills on 32 attacks while Jezabel Bernard added nine kills and Kaylee Vanjo finished with six.

Liene Dujin directed the D&E offense with 32 assists while Neve Norris recorded a team-high 23 digs. Vanjo added a team-best four blocks.

D&E opened the match with a strong first set, using a .174 hitting percentage to take the 25-22 victory. Salem answered with a .308 hitting percentage in the second set to even the match before taking the third and fourth sets.

Salem was led by Brianna Beyerle with 14 kills and 15 digs. Alexandra Vigneron added 11 kills.

The match drew an attendance of 350 as D&E played its first home contest on the new court in the McDonnell Center.

Davis & Elkins will return to action Friday, Sept. 18, hosting West Virginia Wesleyan at 7 p.m. in an MEC matchup at the McDonnell Center. The contest will serve as D&E's Code Red game.
