PITTSBURGH, Pa. — The Davis & Elkins College men's soccer team earned a 1-0 victory over Point Park University Sunday afternoon at FNB Stadium, improving to 3-0-1 overall and 1-0-1 in Mountain East Conference play.

The Senators struck early, finding the back of the net in the fifth minute. Benjamin Luengo scored his second goal of the season at the 4:30 mark, with Hugo Fauli providing the assist to give D&E a 1-0 advantage.

Davis & Elkins carried the lead through the remainder of the match, limiting Point Park to just two shots and none on goal. Charlie Phillips recorded the shutout in goal for the Senators without being forced to make a save.

The Senators finished with nine shots, including five on goal, while earning four corner kicks. Point Park recorded two shots and two corner kicks.

Luengo led D&E with one goal and one shot on goal, while Souleymane Baal recorded two shots on goal. Fauli added one shot and an assist.

The match ended early due to lightning, with the 1-0 score confirmed as the final result.

The Senators return home Wednesday, Sept. 16, when they host Wheeling University in an MEC matchup at Nuttall Field. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
