Box Score GREENSBURG, Pa. — The Davis & Elkins College women's soccer team opened its 2026 regular season with a 1-0 road victory over Seton Hill on Thursday at Dick's Sporting Goods Field.
The Senators improve to 1-0 on the season with the shutout victory, while Seton Hill falls to 0-1.
Davis & Elkins broke through in the 25th minute when Vivian Kerr found the back of the net for her first goal of the season. Sophia Brown provided the assist on the game-winning goal, which came off a scramble in the box.
The Senators took a 1-0 lead into halftime and held Seton Hill scoreless throughout the second half to secure the season-opening victory.
Seton Hill finished the match with a 17-3 advantage in shots, including five shots on goal, but D&E goalkeeper Luisa Camara turned aside all five attempts to earn the shutout. Camara played all 90 minutes in goal and recorded three saves in the first half and two in the second.
D&E recorded two shots on goal, with Carolyne Mathenia registering two shots and one on target. Kerr finished with one shot, which resulted in the game-winning goal. Brown was credited with the lone assist.
The Senators return to action Saturday, Aug. 29, when they travel to Tiffin University for a 3 p.m. kickoff in Tiffin, Ohio.
