ELKINS, W.Va. — Davis & Elkins men's tennis placed four student-athletes on the All-Mountain East Conference team following a runner-up finish in the MEC Championship match against Charleston.
Freshman Philipp Fedorczuk headlined the group, earning First Team All-MEC honors after an impressive debut season. Fedorczuk posted a 15-6 record in singles play, good for a 71% win percentage, while competing primarily in the No. 1 position. He also recorded a 7-11 mark in doubles and holds an ITA rating of 16.73.
Three Senators earned Second Team All-MEC recognition. Sophomore Christo Wirahadipoernomo finished the season 9-9 in singles play and 9-7 in doubles. Freshman Tom Strohschein compiled a 12-4 singles record, posting a 75% win percentage, while going 9-6 in doubles play. Senior Justus Petersilie added a 9-9 singles record and a 7-11 mark in doubles competition.
Davis & Elkins will continue its postseason run in the 2026 NCAA Division II Atlantic Regional. The Senators earned the No. 4 seed and will face No. 5 seed West Virginia Wesleyan on Monday, May 11 at 12 p.m. The regional tournament will be hosted by Charleston.
On the women's side, two Senators were recognized with All-MEC honors. Junior Liebe Oosthuizen earned Second Team All-MEC after finishing the season with a 5-10 singles record and a 4-11 mark in doubles. Senior Erin Laubscher also received Second Team honors, posting a 9-6 record in singles play and a 3-13 doubles record.
The women's tennis team has concluded its 2026 season.
