FROSTBURG, Md. — Davis & Elkins College fell 5-2 to Frostburg State in Mountain East Conference women's tennis action on Wednesday afternoon.
The Bobcats secured the early advantage by sweeping all three doubles matches. The Senators' closest contest came at No. 3 doubles, where Maddie Frazier and Emiliana Golac battled but ultimately dropped a 6-3 decision.
In singles play, Davis & Elkins picked up two victories. Erin Laubscher earned a straight-sets win at No. 4 singles, defeating her opponent 6-3, 6-0. Maddie Frazier added another point for the Senators with a 6-2, 6-1 victory at No. 6 singles.
Liebe Oosthuizen pushed her No. 1 singles match to three sets, opening with a 6-1 win before falling 7-5, 6-4 in the final two sets. Frostburg State claimed the remaining singles matches in straight sets to secure the team victory.
Davis & Elkins returns to action on Friday, April 17, traveling to Salem University. First serve is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. in Salem, West Virginia.
