ELKINS, W.Va. — The Davis & Elkins College men's and women's tennis teams closed a road trip Monday afternoon with losses at the University of Mount Olive, as both squads fell by identical 6–1 scores at Mount Olive.
The Davis & Elkins men dropped the doubles point after falling in all three flights, with Mount Olive securing wins at No. 1, No. 2 and No. 3 doubles. In singles play, the Senators earned their lone point at No. 1 singles, where Philipp Fedorczuk posted a straight-sets victory, 6–3, 6–4. Mount Olive claimed the remaining five singles matches to secure the team win.
On the women's side, Davis & Elkins was also swept in doubles as Mount Olive took all three flights to grab an early 1–0 advantage. The Senators' lone point came at No. 6 singles, where Madison Frazier battled to a super tiebreak victory, 6–3, 1–6, 10–8. Mount Olive won the other five singles matches, including straight-set victories at the top three positions.
Both Davis & Elkins teams return to action on Wednesday, March 4, when they travel to face Chowan University in Murfreesboro, North Carolina. First serve is scheduled for 1 p.m.
