Senators Fall to West Virginia Wesleyan in Season Finale

ELKINS, W.Va. — Davis & Elkins College closed its 2025-26 season Saturday afternoon with a 78-32 loss to West Virginia Wesleyan College in a Mountain East Conference matchup at the McDonnell Center.

The contest served as both Code Red and Senior Day for the Senators, who honored lone senior Deylana Forrest in a pregame ceremony.

West Virginia Wesleyan built an early advantage and controlled the pace throughout, shooting 41.8 percent from the field and outrebounding the Senators 53-25.

The Bobcats opened the game on a 9-1 run before Kaitlyn Parker knocked down a 3-pointer to give D&E its first points. Wesleyan responded with a 12-2 stretch to close the first quarter, taking a 20-8 lead into the second.

Emma Witt led all scorers with 25 points and 12 rebounds for the Bobcats, scoring repeatedly in the paint and in transition. Wesleyan extended its advantage to 39-14 by halftime behind 54.5 percent shooting in the second quarter.

Davis & Elkins found its best rhythm in the third quarter, shooting 45.5 percent from the floor. Kylie Morris scored six points in the period, while Briyana Sapp added four as the Senators trimmed the deficit to 21 at one point. Wesleyan answered with a late run to carry a 58-26 lead into the final quarter.

Morris paced the Senators with 12 points, adding two assists. Sapp contributed nine points, and Parker added seven points and four rebounds. Forrest pulled down three rebounds and recorded a steal in her final collegiate game.

West Virginia Wesleyan finished with 36 points in the paint and 24 second-chance points, capitalizing on offensive rebounds to maintain separation in the second half.

Saturday's contest marked the final game of the season for the Senators.
