FINDLAY, Ohio — The Davis & Elkins College wrestling team wrapped up its 2025-26 campaign Saturday at the NCAA Division II Super Regional III tournament inside the Robert A. Malcolm Athletic Center.
The Senators finished 11th in the team standings with 3.5 points against a field that featured several nationally ranked programs. Glenville State claimed the regional title with 142 points, followed by Grand Valley State (140), Tiffin (119), West Liberty (118.5) and Ashland (103).
Davis & Elkins was represented by a youthful lineup that gained valuable postseason experience against some of the top wrestlers in Super Region III.
At 133 pounds,
Nicholas Daniel competed in two matches, dropping decisions to Lake Erie's Anthony Sagaris and West Liberty's James Armstrong Jr.
Benjamin McComas (141) earned a win in the consolation bracket with a 7-0 decision over Emory & Henry's Gavin Warner. He was later eliminated after facing Tiffin's Bret Minnick and West Liberty's Khyon Grace.
Jeston Showalter (157) picked up an impressive technical fall victory, defeating Salem's Seth Holt 18-1. He was eliminated after matches against Grand Valley State's Maclain Morency and West Liberty's Nico Taddy.
Logan Powell (149) and
Liam Young (165) each battled through tough brackets, while Aidan Maldonado (285),
Gavin Hardister (197) and
Mat McNeil (174) also represented the Senators in their respective weight classes.
Hardister secured a 7-3 win by decision in a matchup against Lake Erie College's Joey Scaramuzzino. Maldonado, McNeil and the remainder of the Senators' lineup competed hard but were unable to advance through the consolation rounds.
