ELKINS, W.Va. — The Davis & Elkins College men's lacrosse team fell to Chowan, 24-8, on Saturday evening at Nuttall Field.

Chowan jumped out to an early lead and never looked back, scoring seven goals in the opening quarter to take a 7-1 advantage after 15 minutes. The Hawks added five goals in the second period to extend the margin to 12-1 at halftime.

Reed Low led Chowan with eight goals and three assists, while Todd Eagan totaled two goals and three assists. Thomas Rohal added two goals and two assists in the win.

Davis & Elkins got on the board late in the first quarter when Hunter Bradshaw scored unassisted with 3:20 remaining. The Senators found more offensive rhythm in the second half, scoring two goals in the third quarter and five in the fourth.

Karsen Kronen and JayC Morlog each recorded hat tricks to pace the Senators. Kronen finished with three goals on 10 shots, adding three ground balls, while Morlog scored three times, including two in the fourth quarter. Devon Garcia and Hunter Bradshaw each added a goal, and Nolan Harris tallied an assist.

Chowan outshot Davis & Elkins 53-34 and held a 44-16 edge in shots on goal. The Senators collected 32 ground balls compared to Chowan's 31. Kade Melton went 10-of-20 at the faceoff, while Matthew Morrison won three faceoffs.

In goal, Avery Linthicum made 11 saves in 37:54 of action, and Jacob Orr stopped nine shots over the final 22:06.

Davis & Elkins returns to action Wednesday, Feb. 25 at 4 p.m. when it hosts Frostburg State University at Nuttall Field.
