EDINBORO, Pa. — The Davis & Elkins College women's tennis team dropped a 5-1 decision to Edinboro University on Monday in non-conference action.
Edinboro claimed both doubles matches to take an early 2-0 lead entering singles play.
In singles competition, F. Lahn, L. Wentzler, E. Golac Poppe, and M. Frazier competed in straight-set losses against strong Edinboro opposition.
At No. 3 singles, E. Laubscher earned the Senators' lone point after her opponent retired during the match.
Despite the setback, Davis & Elkins gained valuable experience against a quality opponent and will look to build on the outing as the season progresses.
The Senators' scheduled match against the University of Pikeville on Feb. 20 was canceled. The Senators will return to action on March 2, traveling to face the University of Mount Olive in Mount Olive, N.C., with first serve set for noon.
