GLENVILLE, W. Va. — The Davis & Elkins College wrestling team competed at the Glenville State dual on Friday night, falling to No. 9 Glenville State, 48-0.

The Senators faced a nationally ranked opponent and used the dual as preparation as the team moves toward postseason competition.

Davis & Elkins had wrestlers take the mat across multiple weight classes, including Aidan Maldonado at heavyweight and Gavin Rodriguez-Cayro at 174 pounds. The Senators also saw action from West Holmes-Evans (149), Jose Zavala (141), Geovani Santos (157), and Mat McNeil (165).

Several bouts were decided by bonus points, while the dual also included a double forfeit at 125 pounds.

Davis & Elkins will next compete at the MEC Wrestling Championships, hosted by Glenville State University, on Saturday, Jan. 31. Wrestling is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. in Glenville, West Virginia.
