CANTON, Ohio – The Davis & Elkins women's soccer team opened its 2025 season on the road Thursday evening, playing Malone to a 0-0 draw at Pioneer Park.

The Senators generated a pair of shots on goal, one from sophomore midfielder Addy Cogar in the first half and another from defender Laufey Steinunn Kristinsdottir in the second. Malone managed five total shots, with only one on target.

Goalkeeper Gabriela Acevedo turned away the Pioneers' lone shot on goal in the 47th minute to preserve the shutout in her D&E debut.

Davis & Elkins (0-0-1) returns to action on Saturday, Sept. 6, hosting Tiffin at Nuttall Field in its home opener. Kickoff is scheduled for 2 p.m.
