LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Davis & Elkins cross country had a strong day at the Lock Haven Invitational on Saturday, with standout performances from both the men's and women's teams.
On the women's side, Lauren Twyman led the Senators with a second-place finish in 21:36.40. Freshman Rebecca Tellez crossed the line in eighth at 22:02.00, followed by Savanna Hardman (15th, 22:14.00), Jeanne Pelissier (18th, 22:18.60) and Zoe Belshan (25th, 22:35.00) to round out the scoring five. The women's team continues to turn heads and is receiving national attention in the rankings.
The men's 8,000-meter race saw Jordan Thomas lead D&E with a 10th-place finish in 24:47.50, joined by Christopher Lucas (12th, 24:56.60), Konnor Allison (22nd, 25:16.10), Tristan Blatt (25th, 25:20.80), Cooper Gibson (26th, 25:22.50), and Nick Gallo (72nd, 26:20.20). Andrew Stein (75th, 26:29.50) and Tommy Bildheiser (40th, 25:43.30) also scored for the Senators, helping the men place fourth overall. The men's program is currently ranked among the top 25 in the nation.
The Senators return to action Saturday, Oct. 4, at the Louisville Classic hosted by the University of Louisville at Tom Sawyer State Park in Louisville, Ky.
