CALIFORNIA, Pa. / GREENSBURG, Pa. – The Davis & Elkins College golf programs completed two days of action this week, as the women competed at the Vulcan Invitational hosted by California (Pa.) and the men teed off in the three-round Hannastown Collegiate.
On the women's side, the Senators placed fourth overall with a two-round total of 177-over par (86–91). Junior Marina Saviceva-Noti turned in a standout performance, following her opening-round 73 (+2) with a final-round 70 (-1) to finish as the tournament's individual medalist at +1. Grace Bronkella tied for 18th at +35 after rounds of 84 and 93. Rounding out the lineup were Alexis Herndon (+70, 104–108), Laikyn Stevens (+71, 109–104), and Lilly Wentzler (+84, 109–117). Millersville captured the team title at +82, narrowly edging Saint Anselm (+84).
The D&E men finished tied for sixth in the 15-team Hannastown Collegiate, carding a three-round total of 69-over par (47–22–22). Four Senators placed inside the top 35 individually. Junior Lucio Pavicich led the way at +15, highlighted by a 75 in his final round. Isaac Gregson followed closely at +17 after consistent rounds of 79–74–74. Hugo Mayorga posted +19 (76–73–80), while Wouter Vondeling surged in the final round with a 73 to finish +25. Samuel Rached (+26) and individual competitor Luke Grilliot (+29) also contributed strong play.
Pitt-Johnstown won the men's championship at +23, while Millersville's women claimed the Vulcan Invitational team crown.
The Senators return to action Sept. 29-30 at the Sunnehanna Collegiate, hosted by Pitt-Johnstown at Sunnehanna Country Club in Johnstown, Pa.
