Box Score SALEM, W.Va. – Davis & Elkins men's soccer picked up a 1-1 result on Sunday afternoon at The Bridge, battling host Salem in Mountain East Conference action.
The Senators struck first in the 29th minute when defender Yiftah Harari found the back of the net off an assist from Chinedu Ikem. It marked Harari's first goal of the season and gave D&E an early advantage.
Salem responded after the break, leveling the score at 1-1 in the 58th minute on a goal from CJ Branch, assisted by Max Cavanagh.
Goalkeeper Charlie Phillips turned in a strong performance for the Senators, making seven saves – including six in the second half – to help preserve the draw. D&E outshot Salem 14-12 overall, with 11 of their attempts landing on frame.
With the result, Davis & Elkins moves to 1-1-3 overall (1-0-3 MEC).
The Senators return to action Wednesday, Sept. 24, when they travel to Frostburg, Maryland, for a 7:30 p.m. Mountain East Conference matchup at Frostburg State.
