Box Score 2 ATHENS, W.Va. — The Davis & Elkins volleyball team wrapped up play at the Concord Volleyball Classic on Saturday, taking on Bluefield State in the early morning and Winston-Salem State in the late morning at the Carter Center in Athens, West Virginia.
Game One: Bluefield State 3, Davis & Elkins 0
Davis & Elkins pushed Bluefield State to the limit in each set but came up short, falling 25-23, 25-21, 25-23. Christine Rangel led the Senators with 11 kills and three service aces, while Neve Norris chipped in seven, while Braelyn Brenneman added six. Setter Emily Besten dished out 28 assists and added two aces, and libero Maddie Edicola anchored the back row with 17 digs.
Game Two: Winston-Salem State 3, Davis & Elkins 0
In the second match of the day, the Senators fell to Winston-Salem State in straight sets by scores of 25-10, 25-22 and 25-19. Rangel again paced the offense with 10 kills, and Norris added five kills and eight digs. Edicola recorded a match-high 21 digs, while Keira Robinson finished with 16 assists

Davis & Elkins concludes non-conference play with an 0-10 record, all on the road. The Senators now return home for the first time this season to open Mountain East Conference play against Point Park on Friday, Sept. 26, at 7 p.m. inside the McDonnell Center.
