CHARLESTON, W.Va. — The Davis & Elkins men's soccer team held nationally ranked No. 4 Charleston scoreless Sunday, grinding out a 0-0 draw in conference action at Welch Athletic Complex.

The Senators' back line held firm against the nationally ranked Golden Eagles, who entered the match unbeaten. Goalkeeper Charlie Phillips anchored the effort with a clean sheet, turning away six shots on goal to keep Charleston off the board.

Charleston outshot D&E 12-1, but the Senators remained organized defensively throughout the 90 minutes, frustrating a potent Charleston attack and denying multiple set-piece opportunities.

With the draw, Davis & Elkins moves to 1-1-2 overall and 1-0-1 in MEC play, while Charleston sits at 3-0-1 (1-0-1 MEC).
