ELKINS, W.Va. — Davis & Elkins College is proud to announce the return of LaChazity Shaver to Senator Nation as an assistant coach for the women's basketball and volleyball programs for the 2025-26 academic year.
A 2025 graduate of D&E, Shaver brings high-level playing experience and a growing coaching résumé to her new role. She appeared in 99 games and made 85 starts during her four-year career with the Senators. Shaver competed at both NCAA Division I and Division II levels while earning a Bachelor of Science in exercise science with a minor in athletic training, and a Bachelor of Arts in English.
Shaver recently served as AAU head and assistant coach for the Albany Lady Stars, mentoring athletes both on and off the court. She also volunteered with the Beat the Streets program, helping develop players ages six to 15.
In addition to basketball, Shaver has volleyball experience, having played two years of varsity volleyball in high school and recently contributing to a collegiate program in her hometown of Pittsfield, Massachusetts.
"When you get players to pour back into the program that was part of their journey, it truly is something special. I'm excited for LaChazity to join the program in a different role. She will work with our incoming class and continue connecting with high school and JUCO coaches. I believe LaChazity will grow in the coaching field and gain a great opportunity to live one of her dreams," said Donna Carr, head women's basketball coach.
