ELKINS, W.Va. — Davis & Elkins swept through its annual Code Red meet Tuesday with a dominant performance against Salem University at the George A. Myles Pool, collecting wins across every stroke and distance group.
The men opened the night with a victory in the 200 medley relay (Spencer Willey, Leonardo Oshiro, Tommaso Tofani, Leonardo Vallerini). From there, the Senators stacked up individual wins throughout the session.
Savannah Foley and Grace Janas set the early tone for the women, with Foley winning the 200 free and 50 free, and Janas capturing the 500 free along with a second-place finish in the 200 free. The sprint and stroke groups continued to roll, highlighted by wins from Daphne McCann (50 back), Maximilla Sutherland (50 breast), and a sweep of the 100 fly by Julianne Hobson, Lauren Lockwood and Alyson Schaefer.
Hobson added another victory in the 100 free, while Lockwood claimed the 100 back and 50 fly. Anikka Peterson delivered a strong performance as well, winning the 200 IM and adding key scoring in multiple events. D&E's women posted several sweeps and 1–2 finishes throughout the meet.
The men's lineup was equally strong. Jan Spehar (50 back, 100 free), Charlie Whitsed (50 and 100 breast), and Lasse Schrieken (100 fly, 200 IM) each recorded multiple wins. Gustavo Queiroz added a victory in the 50 butterfly, and Vallerini secured the 500 free title. The men capped the meet with a sweep of the 200 IM (Schrieken, Payton Williamson, Tofani).
