Box Score ELKINS, W.Va. — Davis & Elkins used a fast start and a balanced scoring effort to pull away from Salem on Wednesday night, earning a 74–58 win at the McDonnell Center.
The Senators forced 23 turnovers and turned them into 32 points, setting the tone early with a 37-17 first half. D&E knocked down 10 three-pointers and got 23 points from its bench while finishing with 15 assists and 14 steals.
Nnadozie Okoroji led D&E with 15 points on 6-for-8 shooting, including three threes. Tristan Starks added 12 points—all from beyond the arc—while Darrius Roach also scored 12, adding four assists and two steals. Dontrell Jenkins filled out the box score with eight points, eight assists and five rebounds, committing no turnovers in 34 minutes. Matthew Gray chipped in 11 points, and Malachi Hampton posted six rebounds and three blocks.
D&E held Salem to 35 percent shooting and limited the Tigers to just one bench point. Salem's Eman Lawal finished with a game-high 20 points, but the Tigers struggled to close the gap after falling behind early.
With the win, the Senators moved to 4–5 on the season and 1-1 in MEC play.
D&E returns to action Saturday, Dec. 13, traveling to Point Park University (Pa.) for a 4 p.m. matchup in Pittsburgh.
