Box Score ELKINS, W.Va. — Davis & Elkins ran into a high-powered Division I offense Thursday night, falling 105–40 to Marshall at the Cam Henderson Center.
The Senators (1–8, 0–2 MEC) opened strong with 16 first-quarter points and held an early tie, but Marshall used its depth and pace to pull away behind a 24-point opening period.
Jahniya Marion led D&E with 8 points, knocking down three field goals and a pair of free throws. Kaitlyn Parker added 7 points, including a first-quarter three, while freshman Kalese Salter chipped in 5 points, a three-pointer, a block and a steal across 31 minutes. Jatia Markes provided a spark off the bench with 4 points and two steals.
D&E totaled 10 assists, led by two each from Salter and Parker, and recorded six steals against the Herd. Koi Shabazz added a pair of offensive rebounds and a putback bucket, while Ruby Smith and Sydney Prince each contributed two boards.
Marshall (8–3) hit 11 threes and placed five players in double figures.
The Senators return to conference play on Saturday, Dec. 13, traveling to Point Park for a 2 p.m. matchup in Pittsburgh.
