Box Score CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Davis & Elkins battled through three competitive sets but came up short against Charleston, falling 25-15, 25-15, 25-19 in Mountain East Conference play Tuesday night at the Wehrle Innovation Center.
Christine Rangel continued to pace the Senators' offense with eight kills and 11 digs, while Kelsea Moore added four kills and a pair of aces to go along with seven digs. Setter Keira Robinson turned in a strong all-around performance with 14 assists, 11 digs, and two blocks. Saige Abbott anchored the defense with 15 digs and chipped in three kills.
The Senators put together their best stretch in the third set, where they opened on a 5-1 run and traded points late before the Golden Eagles pulled away. D&E's defense also posted 58 digs as a team, marking one of their highest totals in conference play this season.
Charleston hit .183 for the match and was led by Sophia Knowles and Kalista Milne with a combined 14 kills. The Golden Eagles improved to 18-11 overall and 9-3 in MEC play.
Davis & Elkins will return home to host West Virginia State on Friday, Nov. 7, at 7 p.m. inside the McDonnell Center.
