Box Score TAMPA, Fla. — Davis & Elkins, serving as the home team in its second game of the Tampa Thanksgiving Classic, dropped a narrow 69–66 decision to Florida Tech on Saturday afternoon.
Kaitlyn Parker led the Senators with a standout performance, scoring 23 points on 8-of-9 shooting and knocking down five threes while adding six rebounds and four steals. Her early scoring surge helped D&E build momentum and stay in front for stretches of the first half.
Jahniya Marion followed with 19 points, seven rebounds, six assists and four steals while playing all 40 minutes. Briyanna Sapp added 11 points, six rebounds and two steals, and Kylie Morris chipped in seven points and six boards. Madison Mims contributed five rebounds and an assist.
D&E shot 23-for-72 from the field, made eight threes and forced 19 turnovers, keeping the game within a possession throughout. The Senators trailed 36–32 at halftime but rallied in the fourth quarter, taking a 66–64 lead before Florida Tech closed in the final minutes.
The matchup marked D&E's closest finish of the Classic and its highest scoring output of the weekend.
Davis & Elkins returns home to the McDonnell Center on Wednesday, Dec. 3, hosting Fairmont State at 5:30 p.m. in the Mountain East Conference opener.
