Box Score COLUMBUS, Ohio — Davis & Elkins put five players in double figures but could not slow down a hot-shooting Ohio Dominican offense, falling 100–87 on Tuesday night at Alumni Hall.
The Senators (2–3) had strong stretches in both halves and shot 54 percent from the field, but ODU answered nearly every run and finished 39 of 62 (63 percent) from the floor.
Vegas Evans led D&E with 19 points on 7-of-7 shooting and added five rebounds before fouling out. Matthew Gray followed with 18 points, including a pair of 3-pointers, and played a team-high 38 minutes. Noah Adamczyk added 14 points and five boards, while Tristan Starks and Dontrell Jenkins each chipped in nine.
D&E trailed 52–38 at the break but cut the deficit to single digits multiple times in the second half. Evans sparked an early push with seven quick points and a putback, while Gray and Adamczyk connected from deep to keep the Senators within range. ODU, however, continued to convert in transition and in the paint, finishing with 60 points at the rim.
Malachi Hampton provided seven points and three rebounds, and Jeremiah Whitmore added eight points off the bench. The Senators' bench contributed 24 total points.
Ohio Dominican was paced by Derek Goodman's 24 points and Caleb Conard's 21, as five Panthers reached double figures.
Davis & Elkins returns home for its first game inside the McDonnell Center this weekend. The Senators host the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown on Saturday, Nov. 29, at 4 p.m. in Elkins.
