ELKINS, W.Va. — Davis & Elkins closed its home schedule Sunday afternoon with a 2-0 loss to the University of Charleston in Mountain East Conference play at Nuttall Field.

After a scoreless first half, Charleston (8-6-3, 7-4-3 MEC) broke through in the 59th minute when Zailee Roberts scored the opening goal. Anna Gregor followed just four minutes later with another tally in the 63rd minute to seal the result for the Golden Eagles.

Davis & Elkins (1-11-5, 1-10-4 MEC) generated several scoring chances throughout the match, firing 15 total shots, including five on target. Catalina Salas, Sophia Brown, and Brenda Castro led the Senators' offensive efforts with three shots apiece, while goalkeeper Gabriela Acevedo made one save in the full 90 minutes of action. Valeria Gabrie received a yellow card late in the first half.

Charleston goalkeeper Ines Degli Esposti earned the shutout with five saves.

The match marked the final home appearance of the regular season for the Senators. Davis & Elkins will conclude its 2025 campaign on Wednesday, Nov. 5, at 7:30 p.m. against West Virginia Wesleyan in Buckhannon, W.Va.
