GREENSBURG, Pa. — Davis & Elkins could not overcome a slow first half Wednesday night, falling 88–64 to Seton Hill at the McKenna Center.

The Senators (1–2) were held to 18 points in the opening period and trailed 36–18 at the break before finding better rhythm offensively in the second half, scoring 46 after halftime. Senior forward Vegas Evans led D&E with 15 points on 6-of-11 shooting and added six rebounds. Darrius Roach knocked down three 3-pointers and finished with 9 points, while Noah Adamczyk added 7 points and two assists.

Nnadozie Okoroji supplied a spark off the bench with 6 points and two 3-pointers. Matthew Gray and Jeremiah Whitmore each contributed 3 points and combined for four rebounds. Malachi Hampton anchored the glass with seven boards, including three offensive.

Seton Hill (3–0) shot 53 percent from the field and had five players reach double figures, using a 15–2 early run to take control of the game. The Griffins out-rebounded the Senators 45–28 and scored 48 points in the paint.

D&E cut the margin to 12 early in the second half behind back-to-back threes from Roach, but Seton Hill responded with an 11–2 stretch to pull away.

The Senators return to action Saturday, Nov. 22, traveling to Elizabeth City State University for a 2 p.m. matchup in Elizabeth City, N.C.
