GLENVILLE, W.Va. — Davis & Elkins wrestling competed in three duals at the Glenville State Quad on Sunday, facing Georgetown (Ky.), Glenville State and Bethany.
The Senators opened the day with a 36–15 loss to Georgetown. Benjamin McComas earned a 7-6 decision at 141, while Jeston Showalter (157) and Mat McNeil (165) both recorded first-period falls. D&E also picked up a decision at 141 and a fall from McNeil at 165, along with a pin by Showalter at 157.
In the second dual, the Senators fell 51–6 to host Glenville State. McNeil delivered the lone D&E victory, securing a fall at 2:45 at 165 pounds.
Davis & Elkins closed the day with a narrow 30–29 loss to Bethany. The Senators produced a strong middle-weight stretch, highlighted by falls from McComas (141), Showalter (157), McNeil (165), and Gavin Rodriguez-Cayro (184), along with a technical fall by Logan Powell at 149. Despite the surge, Bethany's early forfeit points and late pins held the edge.
The Senators return to action Sunday, Nov. 16, at the Tornado Open hosted by King University in Bristol, Tenn.
