Box Score ERIE, Pa. — Davis & Elkins women's basketball fell 90–37 to Gannon on Saturday evening in its Atlantic Region Challenge opener at the Highmark Events Center.
Jahniya Marion led the Senators with nine points and seven rebounds, playing a team-high 37 minutes. Madison Mims added seven points off the bench, and Briyanna Sapp finished with eight points and five rebounds.
Gannon opened the game on a strong run, taking a 34–5 lead after the first quarter while shooting efficiently inside and converting 10 free throws. D&E improved defensively in the second half, posting 11 points in the third quarter and 19 more in the fourth behind increased ball pressure and trips to the free-throw line.
The Senators forced 24 Gannon turnovers and collected seven steals, including three from Kaitlyn Parker. D&E also got scoring contributions from Jatia Markes, Deylana Forrest, and Addison Boram, who each added two points.
Davis & Elkins continues play at the Atlantic Region Challenge on Sunday, Nov. 16, with a 2 p.m. matchup against Slippery Rock at the Highmark Events Center.
