Box Score SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. - Davis & Elkins men's basketball opened the 2025–26 season with a 95–72 win over Lock Haven on Friday evening at Morrow Field House. The Senators relied on balanced scoring, steady defense, and strong interior play to take control early and maintain their lead throughout.
D&E placed six players in double figures and executed efficiently on both ends of the floor. Vegas Evans led the effort with 27 points and 11 rebounds, adding four steals and a block while anchoring the Senators' presence in the paint. D&E finished with 54 points inside and consistently generated high-percentage looks.
Nnadozie Okoroji added 13 points and six rebounds, connecting on three shots from beyond the arc to stretch the floor. Matthew Gray provided 12 points and three assists, including timely perimeter shooting that helped fuel the first-half surge.
The backcourt supported the scoring load with Tristan Starks contributing 11 points, three steals, and three assists, sparking several transition opportunities. Malachi Hampton was active on the glass with 11 points, nine rebounds, and two blocks, while Noah Adamczyk added 10 points and four rebounds with steady play around the rim.
The Senators shot 34-for-70 from the field and held a 50–38 advantage on the boards, including 16 offensive rebounds. Defensively, D&E forced 15 turnovers and turned those into 16 points while receiving 29 points from the bench.
D&E built a 50–36 halftime lead and held off any push from Lock Haven in the second half, limiting the Bald Eagles to 14 field goals on 37 attempts after the break.
The Senators return to action on Saturday, Nov. 15 at 5 p.m., facing host Slippery Rock University in their second game of the weekend.
