DANIELS, W.Va. — The Davis & Elkins College women's golf team sits in fourth place after the opening round of the 2025 Mountain East Conference Women's Golf Championship, held Monday at The Resort at Glade Springs in Daniels, West Virginia.
The Senators carded a team total of +96 through 18 holes, placing just three strokes behind Fairmont State (+93) in the race for third. Charleston leads the championship at +34, followed by Glenville State at +41.
Junior Marina Saviceva-Noti led D&E with a strong round of 80 (+8), good for fourth place on the individual leaderboard. Junior Grace Bronkella followed with a 92 (+20), while Lilly Wentzler posted a 103 (+31), Alexis Herndon shot 109 (+37), and Laikyn Stevens rounded out the lineup with a 120 (+48).
The MEC Championship continues Tuesday with Round 2 before wrapping up Wednesday with the final round. Fans can follow live scoring throughout the tournament here.
