ELKINS, W.Va. — The Davis & Elkins College men's soccer team continued its strong Mountain East Conference form with a commanding 4–0 victory over Wheeling University on Sunday afternoon at Nuttall Field.

The Senators (4-2-3 overall, 4-1-3 MEC) wasted no time taking control as Abdourhaman Faye put the hosts in front less than two minutes into the match. The freshman forward capitalized on early pressure from the D&E attack to make it 1–0.

Davis & Elkins doubled the lead just before halftime when Chinedu Ikem found the back of the net in the 45th minute, giving the Senators a comfortable cushion heading into the break.

The momentum carried over into the second half as Souleymane Baal extended the advantage with a strike in the 59th minute — his first goal of the season. Joao Cavaletti added the finishing touch with a well-placed effort in the 71st minute to close out the scoring.

Defensively, the Senators were equally dominant. Goalkeeper Charlie Phillips collected two saves en route to his second shutout of the season, while the D&E back line limited Wheeling (1-7-1, 0-6-1 MEC) to just three total shots. The Senators held a 12–3 advantage in shots and a 4–2 margin in shots on goal, displaying control across both halves.

The result marks D&E's third shutout in conference play and keeps the Senators near the top of the MEC standings as the regular season nears its midpoint.

Davis & Elkins returns to action on Wednesday, Oct. 8, hosting Frostburg State at 4:00 p.m. at Nuttall Field.
