Box Score INSTITUTE, W.Va. — Davis & Elkins fell in straight sets to West Virginia State on Thursday evening in Mountain East Conference action at the Walker Convocation Center. The Yellow Jackets took the match 25-15, 25-10, 25-16.
Keira Robinson paced the Senators' attack with five kills, 13 assists, and 11 digs. Neve Norris added four kills and an ace, while Christine Rangel and Kaylee Vanjo each tallied five and three kills, respectively.
Defensively, Maddie Edicola led D&E with 11 digs, and Braelyn Brenneman chipped in three blocks. The Senators totaled 45 digs and four team blocks in the effort.
Alyssa Hill led the way for West Virginia State with 11 kills and four blocks as the Yellow Jackets hit .283 as a team, improving to 6-8 overall and 1-2 in MEC play.
With the loss, Davis & Elkins moves to 0-13 overall and 0-3 in the league.
The Senators return home to the McDonnell Center on Tuesday, Oct. 7, for a 7:00 p.m. matchup against Charleston.
