Box Score PITTSBURGH, Pa. — Davis & Elkins men's soccer played to a 1-1 draw with Point Park on Wednesday afternoon at Highmark Stadium.
The Senators (7-5-4, 7-4-4 MEC) struck first in the 32nd minute when defender Yiftah Harari scored off an assist from Hugo Fauli. The Pioneers (7-7-2, 7-4-2 MEC) responded early in the second half as Giovanni Pezzi netted the equalizer in the 47th minute, assisted by Fridolin Gefrorer.
Davis & Elkins dominated the attacking front, outshooting Point Park 26-16, including a 10-4 advantage in shots on goal. The Senators also earned nine corner kicks to the Pioneers' three.
Goalkeeper Charlie Phillips made three saves in the match for D&E, while Point Park's Gregorio Capponi tallied nine stops.
With the result, the Senators sit fourth in the Mountain East Conference standings with 21 points, just behind Point Park (23). Davis & Elkins wraps up its regular season on Wednesday, Nov. 5, with a road matchup at West Virginia Wesleyan. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m. in Buckhannon, West Virginia.
