Box Score ELKINS, W.Va. — Glenville State defeated Davis & Elkins in straight sets (25-16, 25-18, 25-21) Tuesday night in Mountain East Conference action at the McDonnell Center.
Neve Norris led the Senators' offense with eight kills, while Kaylee Vanjo and Saige Abbott each added six. Setter Emily Besten tallied 23 assists and chipped in a service ace. On defense, Maddie Edicola collected five digs, and Braelyn Brenneman recorded three blocks at the net.
The Senators (0-21, 0-11 MEC) battled closely in the third set, highlighted by a pair of service aces from Melisa Ozsar and a late block from Christine Rangel to pull within four before the Pioneers closed out the match.
Rita Kelly paced Glenville State (11-14, 3-7 MEC) with nine kills and a .615 hitting percentage, while Mikayla Curry added 10 kills. Setter Elitsa Peneva distributed 10 assists, and Ava O'Hare led with eight digs.
Davis & Elkins will return to action Friday, Oct. 31, traveling to face Salem University at 7 p.m. in Salem, W.Va.
