Box Score GLENVILLE, W.Va. — Davis & Elkins women's soccer fell 2–0 to Glenville State on Sunday afternoon in Mountain East Conference play at I.L. & Sue Morris Stadium.
The Pioneers struck twice in the first half, with goals from Solares Solano in the 31st minute and Valentina Quiroz in the 44th. Glenville State (6–8–1, 5–6–1 MEC) held the Senators to eight total shots, four of which were on goal.
Sophomore goalkeeper Gabriela Acevedo made three saves in 90 minutes of play for Davis & Elkins (1–9–5, 1–8–4 MEC). Brenda Castro led the Senators with two shots on target, while Frederique Morin, Kristia Kouppi, and Laufey Kristinsdottir each added shot attempts.
Glenville State's goalkeeper Anjolie Colon collected four saves to secure the shutout.
Davis & Elkins continues Mountain East Conference play on Wednesday, Oct. 29, at Concord University. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. in Athens, West Virginia.
