Box Score ELKINS, W.Va. — Davis & Elkins dropped a three-set match to Fairmont State on Friday evening inside the McDonnell Center, falling 25-27, 17-25 and 8-25 in Mountain East Conference action.
Kaylee Vanjo led the Senators' attack with eight kills on a .207 hitting percentage. Setter Emily Besten guided the offense with 19 assists and added five kills, two service aces and four digs. Neve Norris finished with six kills and a team-high 11 digs, while Braelyn Brenneman anchored the defense at the net with three blocks. Sadie St. Mary added three kills, one ace and two digs for Davis & Elkins.
The Senators recorded 27 kills, 20 assists and 28 digs while hitting .131 as a team. Fairmont State improved to 16-9 overall and 4-4 in the conference, led by Joey Borelle's 10 kills and three service aces.
Davis & Elkins, now 0-20 overall and 0-10 in MEC play, returns to action Tuesday, Oct. 28, when it hosts Glenville State at 7 p.m. inside the McDonnell Center.
