Box Score WHEELING, W.Va. — The Davis & Elkins volleyball team fell in straight sets to Wheeling on Saturday afternoon at the Alma Grace McDonough Center, 25-9, 25-19, 25-21.
Melisa Ozsar led the Senators' attack with 12 kills on a .346 hitting percentage, while setter Keira Robinson recorded 23 assists and added seven digs. Neve Norris chipped in six points with four service aces, and Braelyn Brenneman contributed seven total blocks at the net.
After dropping the opening set, the Senators regrouped in the second, using a four-point service run from Norris to close the gap before Wheeling's offense pulled away late. The third set saw D&E rally from behind again, highlighted by kills from Ozsar and Norris, but the Cardinals held on to secure the match.
Davis & Elkins finished with 25 kills and 30 digs while hitting .110 as a team. Wheeling tallied 42 kills and eight service aces in the victory.
The Senators (0-18, 0-8 MEC) return home Tuesday, Oct. 21, to host Frostburg State in Mountain East Conference play. First serve is set for 7 p.m. inside the McDonnell Center.
