Box Score ELKINS, W.Va. — Freshman Addy Cogar scored twice in the second half to lead Davis & Elkins past Salem University, 2–0, on Saturday afternoon at Nuttall Field.
After a scoreless opening half, Cogar broke through in the 46th minute to put the Senators ahead. The midfielder added her second goal nine minutes later, finishing a pass from Kristia Kouppi to extend the lead.
Goalkeeper Gabriela Acevedo earned the clean sheet, making one save as D&E (1-6-4, 1-5-3 MEC) controlled the tempo throughout the match. The Senators outshot the Tigers 31–2 and totaled 12 corner kicks while maintaining consistent pressure in the attacking third.
The win came during Homecoming Weekend as the program celebrated 25 years of women's soccer at Davis & Elkins College.
Davis & Elkins will return to action Wednesday, Oct. 15, traveling to face West Liberty University at 7:30 p.m. in West Liberty, W.Va.
