ELKINS, W.Va. – Davis & Elkins College men's soccer earned a 3-1 victory over Point Park University on Wednesday afternoon at Nuttall Field in Mountain East Conference play.

The Senators (3-2-3, 3-1-2 MEC) struck first in the 31st minute when Francisco Lopez Kreik netted his fourth goal of the season, assisted by Patrick Alouidor.

In the second half, Davis & Elkins extended the lead behind goals from Benjamin Luengo in the 62nd minute and Chinedu Ikem in the 68th. Both tallies were assisted by Joao Cavaletti, marking his first two assists of the year.

Point Park (4-4-0, 4-3-0 MEC) broke through in the final minutes when Cheroky Briard scored in the 90th, but the Senators' defense and goalkeeper Charlie Phillips closed out the result. Phillips recorded seven saves, including six in the second half.

Davis & Elkins controlled much of the match offensively, outshooting the Pioneers 28-14 with a 12-9 advantage in shots on goal.

The Senators return to action on Sunday, Oct. 5, hosting Wheeling University in MEC play. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. at Nuttall Field.
