Senators Men Fall to Concord In Overtime

ELKINS, W.Va. — Despite a strong effort, the Davis & Elkins Senators men's basketball team fell to Concord University, 78-73, on Saturday evening in a hard-fought Mountain East Conference clash at the McDonnell Center.

Sophomore guard Ja'Kobe Strozier led the Senators with 14 points, showcasing his versatility with a mix of drives and jumpers. Strozier also grabbed 4 rebounds and added an assist in a solid all-around performance.

Sophomore Dontrell Jenkins added 12 points, including two three-pointers, and contributed on defense with 4 rebounds. His clutch shooting helped keep D&E in the game during key moments.

Emmanuel Oladeru was a force inside, scoring 10 points on efficient shooting and pulling down 6 rebounds. His physical presence in the paint anchored the Senators on both ends of the floor.

Nicolas Silva matched Oladeru's total with 10 points and added 6 boards, while Charleston Ponds chipped in 8 points and a team-high 4 assists.

The Senators outperformed Concord (5-6, 4-3 MEC) in second-chance points (13) and bench scoring (25), reflecting their depth. However, turnovers (13) and foul trouble proved costly in the final minutes.
