Frostburg, Md. -- The Senators picked up a must needed win over Frostburg State 97-82 and clinched a first round bye in the Mountain East Conference Tournament.
Tristan Starks led the way for the Senators with 25 points and 5 rebounds.
Both teams shot the ball well in a back-and-forth first half that saw neither team hold a lead larger than 6 points. There were a total of 14 lead changes in the first half and the Bobcats held a 43-42 lead going into halftime.
The Senators kept the hot shooting going after halftime and picked up the effort on the defensive end to pull away in the second half. With the score tied 74-74 with 6:50 remaining the Senators would go on a 23-8 run to end the game to pull out the victory.
Sam Rolle IV scored 18 points while pulling down 7 rebounds and dishing out 5 assists.
Nicolas Silva added 17 points and 6 rebounds.while
Charleston Ponds scored 12 points.
