Elkins, W.Va. -- The Davis & Elkins men's lacrosse team opened up their home schedule with a 11-7 win over the University of the District of Columbia.
Owen Taylor led the way offensively for the Senators with 5 goals on the day.
The first period saw both teams exchange goals as they ended the period tied 2-2. The Senators took control of the game in the second period by outscoring the Firebirds 4-2 and went into halftime with a 6-4 lead.
The third period was a defense struggle as each team was only able to score a single goal. The Senators would put the game away with a strong fourth period by scoring 4 more goals.
Joshua Allegra scored 3 goals and added 2 assists.
Buddy Brown collected 8 ground balls and scored a goal.
Joshua Csanyi got the win in goal and collected 13 saves.
