Elkins, W.Va. -- Davis & Elkins took the lead with 12:19 remaining in the first half and didn't look back on their way to a 79-56 victory over Salem.
Nicolas Silva turned in another solid all-around game scoring 16 points while pulling down 8 rebounds and dishing out 5 assists.
Both teams struggled shooting from the field early in the first half with Salem holding a 4-2 lead at the under 15:00 media timeout. The Senators would come out of the timeout and start to find their stride offensively and would take a 31-19 advantage into halftime.
Davis & Elkins would go on a 14-2 run midway through the second half to extend their lead to 22 with 10:48 remaining. The Senators would shoot 15-31 (48.39%) from the field in the second half and also go 16-20 (80%) from the free throw line in route to the win.
Sam Rolle IV was honored before the game for surpassing 500 career assists during the January 21st game against Charleston. Rolle had 17 points on the night while picking up 3 steals, 2 rebounds and 2 assists.
Clarens Pierre and
Charleston Ponds both narrowly missed double-doubles. Pierre scored 9 points while pulling down 10 rebounds and Ponds had 9 points to go along with 12 rebounds.
Vadim Clanet would add 8 points and 6 rebounds while
Dontrell Jenkins would 9 points for the Senators.
