FAIRMONT, W. Va. — The Davis & Elkins College men's basketball team battled but ultimately fell short, dropping a 90-73 decision to undefeated Fairmont State University on Tuesday night in Mountain East Conference action.
Sam Rolle led the Senators with a stellar performance, scoring a game-high 20 points on 9-of-13 shooting while dishing out six assists and recording three steals. Nicolas Silva contributed 11 points and grabbed four rebounds, showcasing his versatility with a mix of inside and perimeter scoring.
Nnadozie Okoroji added 13 points, highlighted by four three-pointers, and Isaiah Buckley provided a strong effort off the bench with nine points, four assists, and two rebounds. Emmanuel Oladeru chipped in six points in the paint, demonstrating his physical presence at center.
Despite the Senators' offensive efforts, turnovers proved costly as Davis & Elkins committed 14 turnovers, which Fairmont State converted into 17 points. The Senators also struggled to contain Fairmont State's potent attack, which saw the Falcons shoot 54.1% from the field.
