LOCK HAVEN, Pa. -- Three more school records were broken on a day that saw the Davis & Elkins women finish third and the men fourth in the team standings in the Lock Haven University Invitational Saturday. The event featured more than forty-five institutions and nearly 1,000 total competitors over four different races on the day.
In the women's race, Freshman
Lydia Falkenstein once again led the way with a school record 6K performance (21:18) to finish seventh overall in the field of 286 runners. Falkenstein now owns both the 5K and 6K school records just three races into her young career.
Sophomore
Lauren Twyman led a charge of Senator women running to big personal best performances behind Falkenstein. Twyman (22:06, 28th), freshman
Kaitlin Pappas (22:18, 38th), junior
Ella Hesson (22:20, 41st), and sophomore
Savanna Hardman (22:22, 45th) rounded out the team scoring and gave the Senators another school record scoring average time of (22:04).
In the team standings, the women finished third overall out of thirty-seven schools in the Crimson Championship Division. In a meet that featured most of the Atlantic Region, the Senators finished only behind one region program, Charleston, who won the meet and one spot ahead of Slippery Rock in a tight one-point difference.
