ELKINS, W.Va. – The Davis & Elkins men's lacrosse team rolled in a Great Midwest Conference matchup against Alderson Broaddus 22-6.
D&E opened scoring when
Austin Derx scored on a
Joshua Allegra assist. Following an Alderson Broaddus goal, D&E scored again when
Tre Turner found Allegra. The Battlers answered once more before
Tyler Kolodka scored an unassisted goal to close the first period with the Senators up 3-2.
D&E outscored AB 7-3 in the second period. Derx scored a pair of goals.
Xzavier Jankowiak,
Cooper Jackson,
Zach Lontayao, Turner, and Kolodka each scored a goal in the period. Kolodka assisted in four goals in the second period.
Travis Scala and
Nolan Morrison each added an assist in the period. D&E led 10-5 at the half.
In the third period, Kolodka scored a pair more goals. Lontayao, Derx, and Turner each added goals. AB added one goal in the period and D&E was up 15-6.
The Senators held the Battlers scoreless in the fourth period as they scored seven unanswered. Allegra scored three goals in the period and Turner scored two. Kolodka and Scala scored one each.
Kolodka had nine points (5 goals, 4 assists) in the game. Turner added six points (4 goals, 2 assists). Allegra had five points (4 goals, 1 assist). Derx, Cooper, and Lontayao each had four points.
Jakob Makarenko led the way with seven ground balls.
Buddy Brown scooped five ground balls. Scala and Jankowiak each scooped four.
Joshua Csanyi was in goal most of the game and had thirteen saves.
Jared Foster saw action in goal for D&E for 8:27 and had a save.
