Kimberlee Adkins Named New A&T Coach

ELKINS, W.Va. -- Davis & Elkins Director of Athletics Patrick Snively has announced the hiring of Kimberlee Adkins as Head Acrobatics & Tumbling Coach.

Adkins comes to D&E from Chowan University where she served as assistant coach and lead recruiter tasked with rebuilding the roster of a program dormant during the pandemic. Prior to Chowan, Adkins was an assistant cheer coach at James Madison University and assisted in building the largest recruiting class in JMU history. James Madison also earned its first-ever top-ten finish at UCA College Nationals as a traditional All-Girl team while Adkins was a coach there. Coach Adkins also operates Kimmy's Cheer Camps and Clinics, where she hosts All-Skills Camps for young athletes and College Prep Clinics for high school athletes and college transfer with collegiate aspirations.

Other coaching experiences include Fame Valley All-Stars, Mission Montessori Academy, Top Gun All-Stars, and Immortal Athletics.

"I am humbly honored to be named as the Head Acrobatics & Tumbling Coach at Davis & Elkins College," said Adkins. "It is a privilege to provide opportunities for women to compete at the collegiate level! I am excited to continue the growth of the program and the sport of A&T. I thank President Wood and Athletic Director Patrick Snively for entrusting and choosing me to develop a competitive program. I am looking forward to leading the Senators in the coming years."

"We were immediately impressed with Kimberlee's energy, enthusiasm, and breadth of knowledge," said Director of Athletics Patrick Snively. "She is already hitting the ground running with recruiting and we are confident she will build a competitive team that will compete within the highly-competitive Mountain East Conference and beyond. Acrobatics & Tumbling is a growing sport and one that young women are gravitating toward. We found a coach that will provide opportunities for these young women and provide the leadership the need to succeed."

The Lovejoy, Georgia native holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Mississippi State University and was a member of the All-Girl Competitive Cheer Team at MSU. Following MSU, Adkins moved on to Gannon University, where she was a member of the Acrobatics and Tumbling Team.

"Coach Kimmy" was a three-sport athlete in high school. She was captain of her cheer team, helped her volleyball team win a Regional Championship, and placed 15th in the State Championships in pole vault.
