D&E Lacrosse Drops Road Contest

LAFAYETTE, Pa. -- Davis & Elkins fell in a road contest to Chestnut Hill Wednesday evening 15-7.
 
D&E's Tre Turner struck first in the contest to put the Senators up 1-0 just :33 into the match. Austin Derx assisted on the goal. Chestnut Hill matched D&E's goal to even the score 1-1. D&E again went up on an Austin Derx goal when Xzavier Jankowiak assisted. The Griffins scored the next three goals of the period to take the 4-2 lead.
 
In the second period, it was all Chestnut Hill as they outscored D&E 4-0 to lead 8-2 at the half.
 
Chestnut Hill came out of the half scoring five more in a row to lead 13-2 with six minutes remaining in the third period. Travis Scala broke up the Chestnut Hill scoring streak when he scored off a Joshua Csanyi assist. The Griffins scored once again to close out the third period and Chestnut Hill led 14-3 heading into the fourth period.
 
The final period was much more promising for the Senators as they outscored Chestnut Hill 4-1 in the period. Nolan Morrison scored back-to-back goals to lead off the period. Joshua Allegra assisted on the first, while Tyler Kolodka assisted on the second. Kolodka and Zach Lontayao scored the final two goals of the contest. Allegra supplied the assist on the Kolodka goal and then Kolodka assisted Lontayao.
 
Kolodka had 3 points (1 goal, 2 assists), Derx had 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist), Morrison had 2 goals, Allegra had 2 assists, Scala, Turner, and Lontayao had 1 goal each, and Csanyi and Jankowiak had 1 assist apiece.
 
Scala scooped 5 ground balls to lead the Senators. Csanyi scooped up 4, while Buddy Brown scooped 2 and Turner, Thomas Schroeder, and Robert Stephenson scooped 1 each.
 
Joshua Csanyi saved 21 shots on goal.
