TIGERVILLE, S.C. -- In a matchup that saw the Davis & Elkins Women's Lacrosse team down early, the Senators began chipping away at North Greenville's 6-0 halftime lead before eventually falling 11-6 at Pepsi Stadium.
North Greenville scored one goal in the first period and five goals in the second to put D&E at a disadvantage early.
Ari Hinton opened the Senators' attack in the second half with back-to-back goals coming off assists from
Morgan Rogers.
North Greenville scored again eight minutes into the half before D&E got hot, scoring four straight.
Hannah Lennon scored the final goal of the third period. Rogers again provided the assist.
Rogers assisted Hinton five minutes into the fourth period for her third goal.
Haleigh Forand and
Hannah Lennon scored D&E's fifth and sixth goals, respectively. Hinton assisted on Forand's goal and
Kelsey Corcoran provided the assist to Lennon. This pulled the Senators within one at 7-6.
North Greenville finished out the game with a hot streak of their own, scoring the final four goals of the contest, to win 11-6.
Hinton led the Senators with three goals. Rogers was the team leader in assists with four.
Marissa Cuevas turned away ten shots on goal and scooped five ground balls.
The Senators play next at Converse University in Spartanburg, S.C. February 26 at noon EST.
