LOCK HAVEN, Pa. -- The Davis & Elkins men's cross country team punched its ticket to the 2023 NCAA Division II National Championships by securing a runner-up finish at the NCAA Division II Atlantic Region Championships Saturday.
The Senator men officially tied in the team scoring for the Regional Championship Team Title with the University of Charleston but were awarded the runner-up finish based of the tiebreaker rule. Both teams scored 54 points.

Jackson Gibson (9th),
Thijs Terlouw (12th),
Carter McKenna (13th), and
Gabe Conder (16th) all earned the All-Region honors with
Konnor Allison (29
th), and
Henry Schmidt (32nd) just missing.
The Senator men set a program 10K scoring time record (30:56).
"I'm beyond proud of this team!," shared head coach
Jason Pyles. "This entire season we have had the motto and hashtag #roadtojoplin and as of late it has turned to #leaveyourlegacy. This group due to their commitment and belief in one another accomplished the season-long goal of making it to the National Championships in Joplin."
The Senators will now prepare to travel to Joplin, Missouri for the National Championships, which will be hosted by Missouri Southern State University on Saturday November 18.
